life is full of small advances. this week i made mistakes at work. they involved other people. they showed my inadequacies personally and professionally. i did not quit. i did not lie. and at the end of the day, my harshest critic was my best friend and greatest comfort. tonight i went to a party where the only people i knew were barely acquaintances. i did not go in my own car. i did not have means of escape. i did not drink alcohol. i did eat cake. i did find a tiny baby to love on and a tiny puppy to play with. i did meet some nice and interesting locals. i did see someone i've been missing. i did survive and i had a lovely time too.
